  • Cette lettre est une réponse favorable à la requête urgente pour recevoir de l'aide de la part du Gouverneur général, Lord Drummond, en date du 10 novembre, 1815.  Philip Long devait recevoir un baril de porc et un baril de farine.

Sir,

In consequence of the extreme indigence and want (arising from the usual crops of grain having failed) of Philip Long, an old soldier and Settler on Lake Temisquata whose case has been favourably recommended to Lieutenant General Sir Gordon Drummon.  I am instructed by his Excellency to direct you will be pleased ifsue to the said Philip Long one barrell of Pork and one Barrell of Flour.
