River du Loup 29th Sept.
1816
I François Robichaud do hereby
declare, that when doing the duty of conductor in forwarding the
provisions across the Portage to the (?) settlements in New Brunswick,
that Mr long as well as his son in law did in the month of July last,
refuse to carry a few barrels of provisions from the head of Lake
Temisqouata to the settlers, although Mr Long well knew the perishable
state in which the flour was, from the wet it received on its way
through the Portage ___ and that the said provisions lay there, and that
neither Mr Long nor his son in law wont cary it though repeatedly asked
to do so by Saint-James (?) for payment.

Witness
François X Robichaud
